HOT SHOTS Becomes Title Sponsor of USWCA Circuit

The Unites States Women’s Curling Association (USWCA) and WOW! Special Event Management Inc. are pleased to announce that the Hot Shots Curling Camp, the world leader in adult curling instruction, has joined the USWCA as the premier sponsor of the 2011 Women’s Curling Circuit, with an option for 2012 and 2013. In addition to the National Trophy and financial sponsorship, Hot Shots will award the four top regional finalists an entry into one of our 2012 Curling Camps (including accommodation) and a signature Hot Shots curling jacket.

“We are pleased to be involved with the USWCA as we expand the HOT SHOTS Curling Camp program into the United States” explained HOT SHOTS Curling Camp founder David Gravelle. “We tend to have more female participants at our camps, so partnering with an organization that wants to foster the development of women’s curling is a natural fit for us. We hope this will be a successful partnership as the sport of curling grows and grows in the USA.”

The HOT SHOTS Curling Camp will be holding a camp at the Chicago Curling Club in Northbrook, Illinois from October 14-16, 2011.  Previously it has staged camps in Milwaukee, WI; St. Paul, MN, Madison, WI, and Bridgeport, CT.

A rousing success in its inaugural year, the USWCA Circuit began last season with the goals of providing enhanced competition for women and supporting women’s bonspiels across the USA.  Over $5,000 was awarded in prize money in the Circuit’s inaugural year and bonspiel registration was up in participating ‘spiels nationwide!

USWCA member clubs can enroll women’s bonspiels in the Circuit through the USWCA website.  USWCA female members can register through the USWCA or on-site at the participating bonspiel.  The national champion and regional winners are determined based on a point system considering size of the event in addition to final event standing.

The season is off to an excellent start with a dozen Women’s Bonspiels from Albany, NY to Seattle, Washington on board!
