Dear David

Thanks again for a great curling camp!  We learned a lot, made new friends, and learned some new words (keener).  Hope you all had a great trip home, and maybe we'll see you again in Madison sometime for another curling camp.

Aaaaghhh!!!!  I cannot move!!  Just kidding.  That was a great camp.  Allan and I enjoyed it tremendously.  LOVED the strategy sessions with the games.  Thanks for all your efforts.

Hope to see you at another camp once recovered.

Good morning Dave

Thanks so much for a great weekend.  I picked up some valuable information, not only for myself but for my little rockers too!  I'm off to the club tonight to throw some stones and work on that clockwise takeout.  I'll be thinking of you every time I throw one!

Thanks again to you and your wonderful crew.

Hi David

HOT SHOTS provided me with one of the best weekend’s I’ve ever had. Not only was the quality of instruction superb, but every instructor cared deeply about the sport and the campers, and wanted them to progress and succeed.

My thanks to all of you and especially Glenn Howard for the unforgettable one-on-one instruction.

See you next year.

Dear David,

I would like to send my appreciation to yourself and all the instructors I met last weekend in Oakville. It was not until I came back and read over the booklet, then Googled the names did I realize the level that these individuals are at. They must have been bored to tears trying to teach a schmuck like myself the basics but I sincerely appreciate their patience and humor while watching me fall all over the place.

Be assured I will be praising your camp to high heaven when I get back into Ardsley C.C. and see my fellow curlers who have never tried such a course. The other campers were a delight to meet and the instructors superb in their ability to impart the basic knowledge in a clear yet friendly manner.

All the instructors were brilliant but I had the luck to meet and deal with the three US champions Deb, Nicole and Natalie a little bit more than most and they were the highlight both on and off the ice. As a father with two daughters I have to say that those three ladies are wonderful role models for young women which is something sadly lacking in society today.

Today I ache in places I didn't even know I have. Good luck with your other camps and I hope to return with a bit more ability the next time.

Best wishes,

Hi David,

I just wanted to thank you for an awesome camp! I know I got more out of this one than the last one I went to, simply because I've grown curling wise in the last 3 years.

I wanted to mention one instructor that really stood out for me. John Epping. Not because he's as cute as a button...no, it's because he's enthusiastic about teaching. I had him in my first session and he corrected something in my slide that I'm determined to work on. John has a way of encouraging you to try something new, and you don't really mind trying it. His enthusiasm is contagious, well it was for me anyway.

Again, thanks for a great weekend. See you during the curling season!

Hello David,

I am sure you have ploughed through many emails from the 'August' group, taken a minute to catch your breath and are preparing for September.

I must say that as a course director for Boy Scout Training, including 'Train the Trainer' and several very large courses, I must give you high marks for the camp. The outline/layout was direct, straight forward and easy for the participant to grasp. The quality of instruction was very high. The instructors provided good info and coaching which was tailored to the camper. Plus, the instructors checked their attitude and egos at the door. Barb and I have extensive coaching background and enjoyed not only the quality of the instruction but the methods and adjustments each presenter utilized.

As a side note, I met Earle at the Men's World. I was very impressed as he handled and out gunned Aussie team and produced some great results. i found myself rooting for Australia over the US and Canada. He is a treasure to the sport and I truly am grateful to have spent some time with him. He is amazing as he draws the best out of each curler and makes them feel as if they were the most important person in the world.

A special thanks for the staff's recognition of Barb. Her love a curling is amazing and it is reflected in her attitude and approach. I know that I will still be the curling train wreck in the family for a while.

I ask that you give a consideration to providing pitchers of water for each table for lunch and breaks. It will save time and some questions for first time campers.

Barb had noted on our eval form that if you like, we could provide camp info to our club. Please send it to me and I can pass it to the board.

Anyway, I'm not coming back..................... until next year! If you ever need anything we at always at your service.

Good curling to you.

Dear David,

I had a great time at camp. I have already started exercises that will help my new delivery and I keep dropping by the rink to see how the prep for the new season is going. A bonus I received from the camp is a new attitude toward sports and it has already paid off in my first round of golf since coming back!

Again, it was a great learning experience but so much more came from the attitude of the instructors. Their love of the sport and their love of people make their instruction feel so much more personal and gave me the feeling that my own little club curling is important too.

Thank you,

Dear David

On behalf of Patti and myself, a big thanks for a great weekend. We are both so keen now to curl, it is frustrating to wait until mid-Oct before we get our ice. However, we are doing lots of planning now and designing for the coming season!

You do a terrific job of organizing the camp. Thanks!

David,

Thanks again for the wonderful time this weekend. This morning I'm a bit sad to be at work, and even more sore :), but I have some wonderful memories of the weekend.

I thought of a suggestion for you. It may be too late to do for the camp that just ended, but for future camps, you might want to give out a directory of all of the campers and their email addresses. I met some great people this weekend and would love to keep in touch with them.

Just a thought...

All my best for your upcoming camps, and I hope that you consider Broomstones for a future camp!

Take care,

Had a great time, Dave, thanks. Looking forward to getting on the ice and using some of this stuff (if not all).

You run a tight ship while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and unintimidating.

Would enjoy doing it again, and will certainly recommend the program to anyone.

Best Regards,
